Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are the end user licence agreement for the Yarnini app for iPhone and iPad (the “App”). Please read them before using the App or buying a subscription. By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms.
1. Who we are
Yarnini is developed and published by an individual developer (the seller named on the App’s App Store page), referred to as “Yarnini”, “we”, “us” or “our”. You can reach us at support@yarnini.com.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these Terms.
2. Who can use Yarnini
Yarnini is made for adult knitters and crocheters. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a subscription. If you are younger, you may use the App only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf. Yarnini is not directed at children under 13.
3. Optional account and sync
You do not need an account to use Yarnini. As a guest, your progress, favourites, preferences and profile name are saved only on your device. We cannot recover them if you delete the App or lose your device. To work, the App uses a random anonymous identifier that is not linked to you.
If you want your progress on more than one device, you can sign in with Apple or Google. Your use of those sign-in services is also subject to Apple’s and Google’s own terms. When you are signed in, your preferences, favourites and project progress are synced to your Yarnini account. This happens when you sign in, when the App moves to the background, and when you tap Sync now. If you sign in to an account you have used before, this device’s progress is merged with the account’s synced copy. Your profile name stays on your device.
You are responsible for keeping access to your Apple or Google account secure. Please tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your Yarnini account. You can sign out, or delete your account and its synced copy, at any time in the App under Profile → Account. Progress already on your device stays there until you delete the App. Our Privacy Policy explains what data is involved.
4. Yarnini Pro subscriptions
Some features or content may be offered only with Yarnini Pro, an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. The following options are offered:
| Plan | Billing period | Price (US storefront) |
|---|---|---|
| Yarnini Pro Weekly | 1 week | US$4.99 |
| Yarnini Pro Monthly | 1 month | US$9.99 |
| Yarnini Pro Annual | 1 year | US$49.99 |
Prices in other countries are set in local currency and may include taxes. The price that applies to you is always shown in the App and in the App Store purchase sheet before you confirm.
- Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase.
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings: on your iPhone or iPad open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Yarnini. If you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of the period you have paid for, and the subscription will not renew. Deleting the App or your Yarnini account does not cancel your subscription.
- Free trials and introductory offers. If we offer a free trial or introductory price, its length and terms are shown before you subscribe. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or offer ends, the subscription converts to the regular price. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds. All purchases are processed by Apple, and we cannot issue refunds or access your payment details. To request a refund, use Apple’s process at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides refund requests under its own policies. Nothing in these Terms limits refund or withdrawal rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
- Price changes. We may change subscription prices in the future. Apple will notify you in advance as required by Apple’s rules and applicable law, and, where required, will ask you to agree before a price increase applies. If you do not agree, you can cancel before the new price takes effect.
- Restoring purchases. If you reinstall the App or use a new device signed in with the same Apple ID, you can restore an active subscription with Restore Purchases in the App.
- Family Sharing applies only if Apple shows it as available for a plan.
We may add, change or remove Pro features and content over time, for example to improve patterns or fix errors. We will not materially reduce what you have already paid for during a current subscription period.
5. Licence to use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Family members may use the App through Family Sharing where Apple makes it available.
The App and all its content, including pattern texts, charts, illustrations, photos, videos, audio narration, the Yarnini name and logo, are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Except as expressly allowed by these Terms, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract the source code of the App, unless applicable law expressly allows it.
6. Pattern content: personal, non-commercial use
Patterns, step-by-step videos, narration and other instructional content in Yarnini are for your personal, non-commercial use. This means:
- You may follow the patterns to make items for yourself, your family and friends, and give them as gifts or donate them to charity.
- You may not copy, screenshot for distribution, record, translate for publication, republish, share, upload or sell our patterns, videos, narration or other content, in whole or in part, including on social media, video platforms, websites or pattern marketplaces.
- You may not use our patterns to produce finished items for sale or other commercial purposes, or use our content to train or build other products or AI models, without our prior written permission.
You are welcome to share photos of items you have made and mention Yarnini. Some materials are provided under third-party licences, such as Creative Commons. Where this applies, the App shows the author and licence, and that licence applies to that material in addition to these Terms.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App or our services. For example, you must not interfere with or overload our servers or content delivery network, scrape or bulk-download content, attempt to access other users’ accounts or data, bypass subscription or security controls, or use the App in violation of any law.
8. Safety of handmade baby items
Babies and young children explore the world with their mouths and can be seriously injured by items that are safe for adults. When you make something for a baby, you are responsible for making sure the finished item is safe.
- Choking hazard. Buttons, beads, safety eyes, snaps, pompoms, bells, appliqués and other small parts can come loose and be swallowed or inhaled. For babies and toddlers, prefer embroidered details instead of small parts. Attach any closures very securely and check them before every use.
- Strangulation and entanglement. Avoid long cords, ties, ribbons and loose loops, especially around the neck, hands and feet. Check that fingers and toes cannot get caught in holes or long floats of yarn.
- Safe sleep. Follow the safe sleep guidance of your local health authority. Many health authorities advise keeping loose blankets, pillows, bumpers and soft toys out of a baby’s sleep space during the first year.
- Materials. Choose baby-suitable, non-toxic, colourfast yarns. Be mindful of allergies and overheating, and avoid fibres that shed heavily.
- Supervise and inspect. Always supervise babies and young children using handmade items. Check items regularly for loose stitches, worn yarn, broken seams or loose parts, and stop using any damaged item.
- Selling or donating. Products for children are subject to product safety laws in many countries. If you give items to hospitals, charities or others, you are responsible for meeting any rules that apply.
We provide patterns and techniques, but we do not see, test or certify the items you make. How you make, finish and use each item is under your control. Where permitted by law, you accept responsibility for the safety of the items you make.
9. Instructions and translations
We work hard to make patterns clear and accurate, but handmade results depend on your yarn, hook or needles, tension and technique, so sizes and results may vary. Some text and narration is translated with automated tools and reviewed over time, so translations may contain errors. If you find a mistake, please tell us at support@yarnini.com so we can correct it.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App and all content are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that content will always be available, or that the App will meet your particular needs. To the same extent, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Sync is a convenience feature and should not be your only copy of anything important to you. As a guest, your progress is stored only on your device, and we cannot restore it if it is lost. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that cannot be excluded or limited under the consumer protection laws that apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App;
- we are not liable for injury, loss or damage resulting from how a finished item is made, finished, used or supervised;
- our total liability for all claims relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for Yarnini Pro in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim, or US$50 if you have paid nothing.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or under mandatory consumer protection laws.
12. Termination
You can stop using the App at any time, and delete your account in the App. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms. If we stop offering the App, we will try to give reasonable notice. These Terms end when your access ends. Sections 6, 8, 10, 11 and 14 continue to apply. Ending your access does not cancel an Apple subscription, so please cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
13. Apple terms
The following terms apply because you obtained the App from Apple’s App Store:
- These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the App. Please send support requests to us.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App, if any, to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility, to the extent required by these Terms and applicable law.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession or use of it. This includes product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- If a third party claims that the App or your possession and use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the App, for example the terms of your mobile data or internet provider.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple has the right, and is deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
If these Terms conflict with the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, the Usage Rules prevail to the extent of the conflict.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts and enforcement offices of Türkiye have jurisdiction over any dispute.
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence. You may also bring a claim before the consumer arbitration committees or consumer courts that are competent for you. If you live in Türkiye, these are the Consumer Arbitration Committees (Tüketici Hakem Heyetleri) and Consumer Courts. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example to reflect new features or legal requirements. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will give you reasonable notice in the App, or by email if you have an account. If you keep using the App after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the App and cancel any subscription.
16. Contact
For questions, complaints or claims about the App or these Terms, please email us at support@yarnini.com.
